PATTAYA – July 11, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 9:10 p.m. at the radio center of Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan foundation Pattaya, Chonburi, a report was received from Roongfa Condominium moo 9, Nongprue, Banglamoong, that a Filipina mom and child were trapped in an elevator at the 7th floor. Responding to the request, the rescue team went with a “cutting-and-spreading” tool.

At the scene, they found that the elevator doors could not open, so the rescue team worked for five hours, using the tool to spread and cut open both sides of the doors. The mother and daughter were finally able to exit the lift. They were Mrs. Gavina Ramos, 38, and her daughter “Susa” (alias), who is eighteen months old.

Mrs. Gavina said she lived on the 6th floor at apt. 514/97. The incident began when she carried her baby downstairs to go shopping, but when she went back up, she went by the lift, but she could not punch 6th floor button, so she pressed the 7th floor button. When the lift reached the 7th floor, the doors did not open. She was stuck for an hour, and the temperature inside the lift was hot. She became frightened, and the building staff came to her assistance and called the rescue team.
