Family Mart And Gold Shop Robbed By Black Jacket Robber

A robber who wore a black jacket robbed 2 shops in the same day in the area of Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi Province. His robbing spree netted him almost 200,000 THB before fleeing into a forest.

SATTAHIP – March 20, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 12.59 p.m., Pol.Capt. Aekkachai Moonlee (Investigation officer of Sattahip police station) was notified that a robber had robbed gold from Panay gold shop, 5th branch, address 68/54 Soi Bon Kai, Moo 6 Tambon Sattahip, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi Province, so he rushed to inspect the scene together with Mr. Phawat Lertmookda (Sattahip Sheriff), Pol.Col. Chonnaphat Nawalak (Superintendent of Sattahip police station), Pol.Lt.Col. Niphon Pomsanarm (Deputy Superintendent), Pol.Lt.Col. Pawatchai Soodsakhorn (Deputy Superintendent) and the detective police team.

At the Panya gold shop the officers found Miss Nuanphan Panprasong, aged 25, who is the gold shop owner and Miss Sirirak Tharmmawitharn, aged 26, who is an employee who were shook up by the robbery. From inspecting the CCTV footage which was installed in front of the gold shop the officers found that the robber was a plump male aged approximately 30 years old , 170 cm tall wearing glasses, a white helmet a scarf to conceal his face, he was also wearing a black-red long sleeved jacket with the name “Mityon Pattaya” on the back. The robber worked alone and used 1 foot long iron cutting pliers to smash the glass showcase containing gold rings he took 16 totalling 168,000 THB before fleeing the scene.

Pol.Capt. Chonnaphat Nawalak (Superintendent of Sattahip police station) revealed that the robber is very professional because he worked alone. Earlier on the same day (March 20, 2014) at approximately 2.11 a.m. he used a knife to rob money from a Family Mart address 3/51 Moo 5 Tambon Sattahip, opposite to Sing Samut School where he got away with 2,845 THB.

The police had distributed a picture of the robber from the CCTV to the relevant organizations to hunt for the robber, they also asked for the support of the special operation officers of National Command Centre for Combating Drugs (NCCD), the rescuers of Sawang Rojjana Tharmma Satharn Sattahip Foundation, Sattahip Municipal officers and over 30 local people to inspect the area within a 2 km radius which they found the robbers jacket on the side of the road in Soi Maew Jai Dee which was approximately 1 km from the incident. The officers assumed that the robber was hiding in the banana forest so they surrounded it and searched it but still didn’t find any trace of him.
