PATTAYA – September 4, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 02.00 am Mr.Jaysuka Sudra aged 48 from England notified Pol.Lt.Sanan Kotanon-investigation inspector of Pattaya police station- that he had been mugged by 2 Thai men who walked up to him and pointed a knife in his back as he was walking towards Pattaya beach. He added that he gave them his TAG HEUER watch, 20,000 baht, Samsung Galaxy smart phone and a digital camera which was all valued about 100,000 baht. The thieves quickly escaped from the scene. Therefore he decided to notify the police.

However the police didn’t believe him because his statement was unclear and suspicious therefore the officers took him back to the scene and checked the CCTV in the area. At the scene the police officers had questioned some witnesses but no one saw anything, plus the police checked the CCTV and there was no evidence of the crime.

Later the police inspected his room at the Tune hotel in order to prove his statement but all the items which said had been stolen where found by the police in his room. He confessed that he tried to scam his insurance company with a police report of the so called theft. However the police officers prosecuted him in act of fraudulent notification.
