Demolition Worker Falls from Balcony

A male construction worker who was demolishing a restaurant’s balcony stepped onto a steel beam which gave way causing him to fall to the ground injuring himself.

PATTAYA – May 13, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 4.30 p.m.; the radio centre of Sawang Boriboon Tharmma Satharn Foundation, Pattaya city, Chonburi province, was notified that a man had fallen from a second floor balcony severely injuring himself. The incident occurred at Nang Zap restaurant on the side of Pattaya third road, north Pattaya, Moo 6, Nong Prue Sub-district, Banglamung District, Chonburi province, so rescuers and the police rushed to the scene.

At the incident the officers found on the ground the injured man identified as Mr Rojjanaporn Wacho, aged 34, who is a black smith (metalworker), lying injured with a fractured skull and other cuts and bruises so the rescuers performed first aid before sending him to Banglamung hospital.

Upon questioning Mr. Surat Karnjanacharoen, aged 46, who is a contractor he told police that before incident occurred he was hired by the restaurant owner to demolish the balcony that was above the car park approximately 2 meters off the ground. Mr Rojjanaporn (the injured victim) who was working on the balcony stepped on a steel beam and plate that he was cutting when suddenly he fell to the ground with steel, wood and bricks from the balcony severely injuring him.
