pdn3SATTAHIP – October 30, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; This incident was reported at 5.40 pm. to Police Lieutenant Niphon Nonkleua (the Investigation Officer on duty at Na (south)-Jomtien police station, (just south of Pattaya City in Chonburi Province). He was notified that a Thai man was found murdered in his hut (near the Shell petrol station), at Moo-1, Na -Jomtien, in the Sattahip district. Police rushed to inspect the scene with the rescuers of ‘Sawang Rojjanatharmmasatharn’ Sattahip Rescue foundation.

At the crime scene, which only approximately 10-meters from Sukhumvit Road, there was a wooden hut with a galvanised-zinc iron roof and surrounded by a neglected forest. In front of the hut they found the corpse of an unknown (nameless) man Thai of nationality, aged approximated 40-years old, whose occupation was the seller of discarded things that could be recycled. His body lay face down wearing black pants, no shirt, having a contused face and his chin had been hit with a blunt object, causing severe wounds, resulting in bleeding from his nose and mouth. The officers estimated that he had been dead for at least 6-hours and after inspected the crime scene, they found only many patches of blood, but didn’t find any more evidence or sign of the weapon, which the culprit used to commit this brutal murder.

By qquestioning the local people, police were told that the dead victim had been a single vagrant, who didn’t have any relatives, but he had built the hut and he had lived in it for many years. Every day he would pick up discarded items from the side of roads and various Sois (side streets), to sell for enough money for his daily living needs. Before the crime occurred that very morning, he was still seen walking to pick up the old items as usual, until the local people found his murdered body at the hut.

Now, the police are doing further detection to find the criminals and police believe that the culprits of his death are the group of drug addicted teenagers, who came to the property to steal, but the dead victim resisted so he was hit with the blunt object until died. Initially, the corpse was sent to Sattahip hospital about 10-kilometers away, where an autopsy was performed, in order to find the exact cause of death.
