Classic Malaysian hawker dishes at OasisMalaysian hawker food, with its strong Chinese influence is a culinary adventure, and classic hawker dishes from Penang, Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur are being served at Oasis in Centara Grand Mirage Beach Resort Pattaya throughout November.
Nasilemak can be considered a Malaysian national dish, and is eaten at any time of the day, starting from breakfast time. There are regional varieties, but the kind being served at Oasis is a fragrant concoction of chicken, rice that has been cooked with pandan leaves and coconut, and a spicy sambal sauce.
Yong tau fu is a Hakka Chinese dish made from tofu and mushrooms simmered in a rich stew of yellow beans.
Bakkutteh translates literally as “meat bone tea”, even though there is no tea in the dish – a Chinese oolong tea is normally enjoyed alongside the serving. There are several different styles, but the bakkutteh prepared at Oasis uses pork spare ribs simmered in a fragrant broth with herbs and spices.
Oasis is for families, groups of friends, couples and individuals! The restaurant has been recently renovated and now offers more outdoor seating than previously. Located on the lobby level, the restaurant is open from 06.00 to 23.00 hrs.
