Chon Buri Police Prepare For AEC

The Director of the ASEAN Centre and officers went to visit Chon Buri Immigration Bureau to hold a meeting in order to check the readiness for AEC.

PATTAYA – March 24,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 11.00 a.m., Pol.Gen. Wuth Liptaphallop (Deputy Director-General of The National Police Bureau) and officers went to Chon Buri Immigration Bureau, Soi 5 Jomtian Beach road, Pattaya city, Chon Buri province, in order to visit the immigration police team to hold a meeting to prepare for AEC. Attending the was Pol.Maj.Gen. Sanchai Chai-amporn (Deputy Commissioner), Pol.Maj.Gen. Nitiphong Niamnoi (Commander of Chon Buri Provincial Police Station), Pol.Col. Praphansak Prasarnsuk (Superintendent of Chon Buri Immigration Bureau), Marine Police teams, police of Pattaya city police station and a tourist police team including representatives of the Embassy of Russia in Thailand and the related tourism organizations.

 

Pol.Gen. Wuth Liptaphallop (Deputy Director-General of The National Police Bureau) revealed that the meeting was to prepare for the up and coming AEC. The 3 subject matters discussed were:

 

1. Security of tourists by reiterating that the police and volunteer police were to step up their patrols and to be more vigilant and the marine security division are to increase safety procedures to avoid accidents at sea.

 

2. To prevent transnational crimes happening such as stealing property , counterfeiting passports ,credit cards, human trafficking, drugs and money laundering.

 

3. To prepare to join ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) and to monitor the amount of new tourists who may travel to Thailand by boat, crafts, ships and vehicles. The Immigration checkpoints will need to use hi-tech devices to screen people coming in and leaving the country without causing any further delays.
