Chon-Buri Officers Celebrate National Police Day 2010

Royal Thai Police officers from Region 2 command on Wednesday celebrated National Police Day at the Gendarme Offices in Chon-Buri.

Chon-Buri, the 13th of October 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: From the Gendarme Police Region 2 Offices in Chon-Buri, officers came together to celebrate National Police Day in a tradition Buddhist ceremony.

Lt-Gen Thangai Pratsajaksattru (Region 2 Police Commissioner) chaired the ceremony, inviting a contingent of some 200 provincial officers to celebrate the annual occasion.

In line with tradition, the officers gave alms to a gathering of nine Buddhist monks before partaking in a ceremony to honour their deceased colleagues and commanders. Closing the ceremony Lt-Gen Pratsajaksattru read an encouraging address from National Police Chief, Gen. Wichean Potephosree.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Lt-Gen Pratsajaksattru presented the ‘Horner Award’ to 18 officers who were deemed to have performed the duties outstandingly during the course of the last 12-months.
