Cambodian Labourers Caught After Killing Thai Man

A Thai man was beaten to death by a group of Cambodian labourers after they had argued with each other. The Cambodians retreated after the argument but came back with reinforcements to attack the Thai man.

SATTAHIP – October 9, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 15.00 pm Pol.Maj.Gen.Nitipong Niemnoi-acting commander of Chonburi- was accompanied with Pol.Col.Saipetch Srisung-deputy commander of Chinburi-, Pol.Col.Sakrapee Peawpanit-deputy commander of Chonburi-, Pol.Col.Chawapat Nawalak-superintendent of Sattahip police station-, Pol.Lt.Col.Pawatchai Sudsakorn-deputy superintendent of Sattahip police station-, Pol.LT.Col.Nipon Pomsanam-deputy superintendent of Sattahip police station- and investigation inspectors had together made a statement about the arrest of Mr.Porn aged 28 and Mr.Heng aged 25 from Cambodia.

Pol.Maj.Gen.Nitipong revealed that on 8th October at 20.45 pm these men and Mr.Ho aged 20 who was a friend of the suspects had attacked 5 Thai people who were drinking alcohol beside a road in Sattahip. Mr Dilek Usawas aged 48 who had been hit in his head and died in hospital, Mr.Suthep Ammartmontri aged 57 and Mr.Sutat Kangwan aged 33 who were injured. After the attack the Cambodians quickly fled to the quay 500 meters away from the crime scene.

Upon questioning both the suspects and victims they told the police that Mr.Porn and the deceased had argued and fought with each other. Later the Cambodian man had less people with him so he decided to flee away before he returned with his friends and weapons to attack the Thai men. Unfortunately the deceased fell over as he was fleeing and was beaten to death by the gang of Cambodians.

The reporters revealed that the police were taking the suspects to re-enact the crime but the officials had to cancel because the deceased’s relatives and about 200 people were waiting at the crime scene.
