Cambodian Bag Snatchers Arrested In Pattaya

Two Cambodian men have been arrested after they snatched a bag from a female victim as she was taking a motorcycle taxi home.

PATTAYA- December 25,2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 04.00 am Pol.Lt.Col.Punjanon Wijitto-inspector of Pattaya- was notified that 2 men had robbed a woman on Pattaya 2nd road using a motorbike. After notification the police and volunteer police rushed to arrest the men.

 

Later the police arrested the two thieves in front of Wat Chai Mongkol temple south Pattaya 2 km’s from the crime scene. The thieves were identified as Mr.Yai a 22 year old Cambodian and Mr.Rai a 27 year old Cambodian. They were caught in possession of a black bag which contained a Samsung phone, some money and documents which belonged to Ms.Napaporn Chaliengmueng aged 26 who was the victim.

 

Upon questioning Ms.Napaporn she told police that she was taking a motorcycle taxi and was on her way home when the 2 men rode alongside her and snatched her bag before fleeing the scene.

 

The Cambodian men claimed that they worked at a restaurant in Pattaya and they needed extra money to spend on Cannabis and amphetamines. However they were sent to the police station to be prosecuted according to the Thai law.
