Burmese Man Found Dead In Sunken Fishing Boat off Pattaya

A fishing boat which sank during a thunderstorm 18 nautical miles off the coast of Pattaya has been recovered. Seven fishermen had escaped but the chef was found dead inside.

PATTAYA – September 7, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 09.00 am Pol.Lt.Col.Weerawut Meelai-investigation inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that a fishing boat had sank 18 nautical miles from Pattaya beach and there was one deceased. After notification the police officers, marine officers and Sawang Borriboon rescue team immediately rushed to the scene.

 

At the scene they found a crane ship which was lifting a fishing boat from the sea bed. Upon inspecting the boat the officials found the body of Mr.Kid aged 38 a Burmese national. The body was decomposed and there was no trace of fighting.

Upon questioning Mr.Adisak Satang aged 41 he revealed that there were 8 people on the boat. On September 4th the boat set sail to fish 5 nautical miles from Ko Pai Island when a large thunderstorm and very rough seas caused the boat to sink. 7 of the sailors escaped from the boat and they drifted for hours but Mr.Kid who was the chef was trapped inside when the boat sank.

 

The police officers recorded the incident and brought the boat owner to police station to question him.
