Burglars Pry Open Safe In Pattaya Millionaires’ House

A burglar who broke into a Pattaya millionaire’s house stole all the valuable items which were locked in a safe totaling around 1 million THB.

PATTAYA – August 20, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; in the afternoon, Pol.Lt.Col. Issaranuwat Jongaphichaikul (Senior Professional Inquiry Official of Nong Prue police station, Chonburi province) was notified that a burglar had stolen property from a house no. 112/128 Moo 10 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, so he rushed to inspect the scene together with the detective police team and the officers of the Scientific Crime Detection Division.


At the scene a 3 bedrooms-single house the police found Mrs. Somnuek Kamphaengthong (a house’s caretaker) who was waiting for the police. She told the police that the house belongs to Miss Khanittha Ketkaew who is her daughter and Miss Khanittha’s husband is a Norwegian businessman and both of them have gone to do some personal business in a foreign country so they let Mrs. Somnuek look after the house. Before incident occurred on August 19, 2014, she had gone to run some errands and stay overnight at her relatives’ house in central Pattaya, at approximately 3.00 p.m. today (August 20, 2014) Mrs. Mom (her relative) called her saying that the house had been broken into so she notified the police before rushing to the scene.


Upon inspecting inside the house, the police found that the back door had been pried open and the house had been ransacked. Also the safe at the side of the bed had been opened and all the valuable property which was inside had been taken, that consisted of 3 sets of pearl ornaments, 2 fine gold necklaces (didn’t know about its weight), 1 set of diamond earrings and lockets, 1 set of pearl ornaments, 1 gold Buddha image and 9 small Buddha images, totaling around 1 million THB in value.


The detective police had inspected the CCTVs in the area and asked the Scientific Crime Detection Division 2 (Chonburi) to come and take finger prints of the crime scene.
