Building Collapses In Pattaya

A building collapsed and caused injuries to 3 Cambodian labourers. It’s expected that the floor collapsed because the scaffold couldn’t bear the weight.

PATTAYA – January 27,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 11.00 am Pol.Lt.Chopaka Prueksachat-female inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that a building structure had collapsed and there were 3 injuries. The incident happened in the project of Worrakit Korsang company which was behind North Pattaya Big C. After notification the police officers and Mr.Ronnakit Aekasing-deputy mayor of Pattaya-, Mr.Pakorn Sukonchat-deputy chief of Pattaya-, Mr.Itthiwut Thitiworn-director of engineering division of Pattaya- and Sawang Borriboon rescue team immediately rushed to the scene.

 

At the scene, a construction of a luxury hotel which had 17 floors and was called Mike Palace, the officers found that the 3rd floor which the labourers were paving cement had collapsed and 3 Cambodian labourers were slightly injured but they didn’t want to go to hospital. Upon questioning Mr.Tee Sam aged 26 Cambodian man who was injured from the incident he revealed that he and his friends had worked on the 3rd floor then the floor collapsed and they fell down and suffered slight injuries

Mr.Pakorn revealed that the building was in charge of Mike Palace company and the operator were constructing hotel with 17 floors and 287 rooms and located on 29,890 square meters. Also Mr.Supat Rattanawatong and Mr.Kajornsak Dilokkallayakul were general engineer of the project and they had right permission to construct. It’s expected that scaffold couldn’t bear the weight and it collapsed. Initially, the officers ordered to stop and postpone construction for a while. In addition, the engineering officers of Pattaya would inspect the plan of constructing in order to find out the real cause of incident.
