Boyfriend Shocks Girlfriend To Death, Commits Suicide Soon After

A male factory worker shocked his own girlfriend or wife to death after he was reported to be extremely stressed with his work situation. After he had killed his girlfriend, he attempted to kill himself right after, but his attempt had failed.

PATTAYA – June 16, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 09.00 PM, Police Lt. Manote Thipwet of Banglamung police station was informed that a couple had died at a flat in Takeantia sub-district. After the incident was informed, police and a voluntary rescue team rushed out to the incident scene.

At the scene, police found the body of Ms. Saranya Barntengjai, age 23, who has lying down in blood. Police also found Mr. Amornthep Dathong, who wasn’t dead yet, but it looked as if he had attempted to kill himself. He used a knife to stab his neck, in order to follow his girlfriend. But the rescue team were able to help and keep him alive. He now is in a critical state.

Police then questioned Ms. Thanyaluk Hormneam, age 19, who was Ms. Saranya’s relative, it was also reported that she lived next to her room. She told the police that as she was sleeping, she heard loud noises coming from Ms. Saranya’s room. She said at around 08.00 PM, Mr. Amornthep called her up, but she couldn’t understand a single word he was saying, but she did realize that he was in a injured condition. She then went out and knocked at his door, but no one opened the door for her. She then looked through the window and saw Mr. Amornthep lying down in blood. When she saw his critical condition, she called all her friends and co-workers to help and inform the police.

Ms. Thanyarat also told the police that the couple were in a relationship for over 8 months now. She also said that the day that the incident happened, the two argued heavily, as they were both stressed about their work situation.

Doctors of Banglamung hospital then conducted a autopsy, it was reported that no physical injuries were found on Ms. Saranya’s body, only minor bruises were found. But there were burned spots throughout her body, which are believed to come from the electroshocks she received.

Police will now wait for Mr. Amornthep to recover in order to take further actions. He now is being treated at a local hospital.
