Boat Sinks Without a Trace in Pattaya Gulf

A boat which was travelling from Pattaya to Hua Hin sank without a trace near Koh Pat island. The marine officers are still searching for it but haven’t been able to find any traces as of yet.

PATTAYA – June 12, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Mr.Rewat Phoriang-director of marine department- was notified by Mrs Somnuk Pinyo aged 67 that Mr.Prasit Pinyo aged 77 had called her and told her that his boat was sinking about 2 Km from Ko Pai island. After notification the marine rescue team and Sawang Borriboon rescue team rushed to search for them.

 

Mrs Sonnuk said that Mr.Prasit is her husband and was sailing from Bali Hai Pier at 13.00 pm to Hua Hin in order to fix a boat with Mr Van a 60 year old sailor. While they were sailing the boat it suffered engine failure and stopped. It then started taking on water so they asked for help from a passing fishing boat which didn’t help them. He then called his wife and explained what was happened before he was cut off.

 

Mr Rewat said that the marine department, coast guard, marine police and navy are trying to search for them but they haven’t found any traces of them yet because they didn’t know their last position.

Latest the reporters revealed that the fishing boat’s sailors can save their life and they already sent them to Queen Sirikit hospital.
