Austrian in Sattahip Shot by Slingshot Robbed of Motorbike and Wife’s Belongings

An Austian male was shot by a slingshot while he and his wife were riding their motobike. Moments later they were robbed of their motorbike and belongings.

Pattaya, 2011, 30 June (PDN) Pol.Lt.Col. Kritsakorn Thongin (Deputy Superintendent Pattaya Police was informed of a robbery opposite the Four Regions floating market.

At the scene, Mr Roland Georg Limer, 51, Austrian National, the victim, reported that while he and his Filipina wife were riding their motorbike from Bangsarei to Sutthahip, and they were being followed by the suspects also a motorbike. Moments later Mr Limer was shot in the neck by a slingshot. He parked his motorbike since he thought he was shot by a gun. Immediately the suspects snatched his wife’s handbag containing a digital camera, passport and some documents. They also stole his motorbike, a Black Honda Click, Registered Jor-Jor-Ngor 468 Chonburi.

The victim used the GPS system to locate his motorbike and the volunteer police went to 124/7 soi Khoamakok 2 Moo 4, Huayhai, Banglamung, Chonburi and found the victim’s motorbike with it’s registration removed parked inside the house. The police searched for the suspects for more than an hour but could not find them. The police assumes they had already escaped. An arrest warrant has been issued.
