Arrested Drug Dealing Gang Being Run from Pattaya Prison

Pattaya city police have arrested 2 drug dealers who were being told where and when to deliver the drugs by a prisoner in Pattaya remand prison .

PATTAYA – April 28, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 5.00 p.m.; at Pattaya city police station, Pol.Maj.Gen. Katcha Thartsart (Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police Station), Pol.Col. Supphathee Boonkhrong (Deputy Commander of Chonburi Provincial Police Station and Pol.Col. Supphachai Phuikaewkham (Superintendent of Pattaya city police station) together made a statement about the arrest of a drug dealing gang which was operating from inside Pattaya Remand Prison. The 2 defendants were a Mr Wannaphong or Aek Tharmmachart, aged 23, Rayong resident and Mr. Prasertsit or Tam Hansamer, aged 20, Sa Kaew resident. They were caught with 10,000 amphetamine pills,33.96g of methamphetamines and a 4-door-black Masda BT 50 pick-up truck, license number Bor Nor 447 Phayao. They were arrested at the Classic Inn, Thepprasit Road, Moo 12 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi Province.

Pol. Col. Supphachai revealed that before incident occurred the police were notified by an informant that there was going to be a lot of drug addicts gathering in a place to consume drugs and the drugs were going to be delivered by 2 Thai men who will be using a black Masda pick-up truck, license Bor Nor 447 Phayao. The police also knew that the 2 drug dealers were living in a rented room in area of Thepprasit road so they went to the rented room where they found the 2 drug dealers consuming amphetamines. The police searched in the room and found amphetamines and methamphetamines which were hidden under the sofa so the officers kept them for evidence.

Upon questioning the 2 defendants, they claimed that they were hired by Mr. Konut (didn’t know his name and surname) who is a prisoner at Pattaya Remand Prison for selling drugs. Mr Konut had called the 2 defendants to bring a Masda pick-up truck from Mr. Karn at Rai Wanasin market, Soi Siam Country Club, in order to use go and collect amphetamines and methamphetamines that someone had put on the side of road no. 7, at entrance route to Pattaya. The 2 defendants had already picked up the drugs and had taken them back to the rented room where they were waiting for a phone call to tell them were to deliver them. They said that they used to be hired to deliver drugs r 5-6 times previously and would receive between 20,000-30,000 THB each time.

Initially, the police sent the 2 defendants to the investigation officer in order to prosecute them further according to the Thai law.
