Amphetamine Dealer Arrested By Sattahip Officials

The Narcotics Suppression Operation Centre of Sattahip Naval Base have arrested “Od Sa Mae Sarn” who is a drug dealer and was caught with 2,000 amphetamine pills.

SATTAHIP – March 22, 2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 9.00 a.m., at the Royal Thai Navy Headquarters Sattahip Naval Base, Chon Buri province, Vice Admiral Wiphak Noijinda (Commander of Sattahip Naval Base) together with Captain Niwat Hacharoen (Director of Joint Operations), Captain Khomsan Sornsuphap (Chief of Peace Maintaining Unit, the 4th Royal Thai Navy), Captain Chalermporn Khlai-thong (Officer of The Narcotics Control Board) and the Special Operation Officers of Narcotics Suppression Operation Center, Sattahip Naval Base, made a statement about the arrest of Mr. Sonthaya or Od Kwanyuen, aged 29, who was a drug dealer. He was caught with 2,632 amphetamine pills and 1,700 THB.

 

Captain Chalermporn Khlai-thong (Officer of The Narcotics Control Board) revealed that local people had complained to The Narcotics Control Board about the defendant who was selling drugs to minors and teenagers from his house. Therefore, he set up a sting operation by sending an undercover agent in to buy 10 amphetamine pills for 1,700 THB. Once the transaction took place he was arrested and the officers also found a further 2,622 pills that were hidden in his house.

 

Upon questioning Mr. Sonthaya or Od Kwanyuen he told the police that he had sold drugs after his friend had introduced him to Mr. Dew, who was a prisoner at Rayong Central Prison and a ringleader that was in control of the drug dealing in the area. He said that he had bought the pills for 85 THB each then sold them to customers in area of Tambon Sa Mae Sarn for 200 – 250 THB per pill.
