Airport Staff Suspended Pending Investigation

The Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) suspended pending investigation the staff of Hat-Yai airport. They are under investigation about the allegations of letting a ghost passenger board a flight. They have also increased airport security.

THAILAND – April 7,2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; Mr. Makin Petplai -managing director of Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited (AOT) said that, employees have been suspended and were under investigation by AOT at Hat Yai International Airport because the staff breached airport security by letting a passenger on with out the correct checks on to flight DD 7105 on 6 April,2014 the passenger identified as a Mr Arsist was then handed over to the police. AOT also increased their security.

They increased security by adding more staff at the domestic departure security check points. The CCTV team monitored every spot in the airport and reported to the security central control every 30 minutes. AOT added that they apologise for the extra time taken but they have to follow and enforce airport security to the ICAO rules.
