Pattaya, 25th February 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: At approximately 6 pm Lt Col. Attharot Krongrat, Police Investigator at Dongtan sub-station, was informed that a the corpse of a baby had been found, left buried in the car park behide Building A, National Housing Authority Condominium, Thepprasit Road, Moo12, Nongprue, Banglamung. Together with a Sawang Borriboon Foundation rescue team, the officer rushed to the scene to investigate.

On arrival, they found the deceased body of a female foetus, estimated at 4 months covered in a 30 cmx 50 cm white cloth buried approximately 10cm deep at the car park in front of an old white Toyota car. Numerous local residents had gathered around the scene.

On questioning a resident condominium dweller who had found the baby corpse stated that at around midnight of 23rd he was sitting on his balcony on the 7th floor. He looked down and noticed two people, gender unclear, climbing over the wall from outside into the condominium car park where they used a hoe to dig a hole for something. Next morning, the witness went to the scene and could smell something bad coming in the air. This led him to ask the condominium’s maid to inspect. While digging at the source of the malodour the baby’s corpse was discovered.

Investigators theorise that there is a potential mother, possibly a teenager, who cannot afford to take care of a baby who decided to abort. Enquiries continue and together with evidence from CCTV, it is hoped the offenders will be identified.
