A Pick – Up Truck Kills Motorcyclist In Hit A Run

A 66 years old man who was riding his motorcycle was hit from behind by a pick-up truck causing him to be flung under a mini bus killing him. The pick-up driver fled the scene.

PATTAYA – February 2, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 10 o’clock, Pol.Lt.Capt.Wattana Pradit, detective officer of Muang Pattaya police station, was informed that there was a fatal accident involving a car and a motorbike, 1 deceased, on Sukhumwit road, Pattaya inbound, before the traffic lights at 3 junction near North Pattaya road, moo 6, Nakluea, Banglamoong, the police with rescuers from Sawangboriboon Thammasathan foundation Pattaya rushed to the crime scene.

At the crime scene they found a Mr.Boonkerd Haryaek, 66 years old, from Sa Keao, lying dead under a blue pick-up truck minibus, license plate number, 10-5853 , Chonuburi, near him was a grey-black Honda Wafe, Kor Kor Kor -726 , Samutprakarn, lying on its side.

Upon questioning Mr.Pilip Sangsaard, 61 years old the minibus driver who was waiting for the police said that he was talking to the passenger when suddenly he heard a big bang at the rear of his car so he stopped and went to check and saw the body of Mr.Boonkerd, dead under his car, then Mr.Apichart Boorapa, 36 years old, a passerby said that while he was riding his motorbike he saw a gray-balck, Chef Rolet 4906 , Chonburi, driving from Nakluea to the t junction and crashed and into the back of Mr.Boonkerd’s motorcycle which flung off it and landed under the minibus killing him. The driver of Chef Rolet then fled the scene so he tried to follow but he couldn’t catch up.

After that the police tried to broadcast through police radio to nearby police stations to catch the fleeing driver but he was long gone. The police took photos for evidence.
