72 Year Old Brit Found Dead In His Room

A 72 year old British man who was a heavy drinker fell over in his room banging his head causing his death. He was found in his room by his friend who went to check on him.

PATTAYA – April 9, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 18.30, Pol.Lt.Capt. Sombat kaewmulmuk, detective officer of Pattaya police station , was notified that there was a foreigner who had died in room number 109, Ruaysamer Apartment, soi Chalermphrakiat 23, near the old Excite building Pattaya third Rd., Central Pattaya, moo9, Nongprue, Banglamung. The police went to the crime scene with Pol.Col.Chaiyaporn Tongpiangnark.

At the crime scene a 4 storey-building on the ground floor the police found the body of Mr Brian Herbert, 72 years old from England lying face down in a pool of blood. The police expected he had been dead for around 4-5 hours and there were no signs of foul play.

From questioning a Miss Samruay Tongnark, 67 years old the owner of the apartment told police that the man had been living there for almost 6 years and was a heavy drinker. The day that they discovered Mr Brian his friend a Mr Phil Robinson, 68 years old came round to see him and knocked his door because he hadn’t been seen all day. But after knocking the door for a while and there was no answer so he asked the apartment owner to open the door where they found him dead on the floor.

After an investigation the police believed that the deceased might have been intoxicated and accidentally fell banging his head on the table causing his death. However the police sent his body for an autopsy at the forensic institute Royal Thai police hospital to find the real cause of death.
