Pattaya, the 5th of December 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: Pattaya Police Investigator, Lieutenant Colonel Patsah Detchpakkul, was notified that thieves had broken into a hotel room in South Pattaya and stole several valuables belonging to three Indian tourists. A police team was immediately dispatched to the Siam Bay View Hotel, located at 310/2 Pattaya Second Road.

At room No. 127, which was located on the ground floor at the back of the hotel, the window had been smashed and the thieves had managed to reach through and unlock the door. The room was in disarray and the victims’ suitcases had been slashed.

Mr. Imran Khan [38], an Indian national, and his two friends told police they had been out and came back to the room late at night. They were shocked to see their room had been broken into and all their belongings had gone. These included 3 suitcases, 3 ATM Cards, 3 driving licenses, 3 LG mobile phones, a Sony Video camera [valued at 20,000 baht], train tickets, 20,000 baht in cash and 3,000 Rupee, with a total value of around 200,000 baht.

Police assumed there were at least 2 thieves. The back of the hotel was dark and the bushes there had made their escape that much easier. The police recorded the incident and took finger prints around the area as evidence.

Police will continue their search for the thieves and bring them to justice.
