14 Year Boy Electrocuted To Death At Foam Party

A 14-year-old boy was electrocuted to death and 2 others were severely injured whilst celebrating Songkran at a foam party. The Mayor ordered the party to be stopped immediately.

PHICHIT – April 13, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at around 4.30 p.m., a journalist reported that there was an incident where a victim had been electrocuted to death at a foam party during the Songkran celebration at an artificial waterfall and beach in the area of Beung Si Fai, Amphur Mueang, Phichit Province. There was also 2 other victims who were severely injured.

The police of Mueang Phichit police station revealed that the dead victim was identified as Master Pheechakorn Boonpu, aged 14, and 1 of the 2 injured victims was identified as Mr Patiwet Thiangkijsuwan, aged 16. Upon questioning bystanders the police perceived that before incident occurred Master Pheechakorn (the deceased) and the 2 other injured victims were holding a pipe that was spraying water but suddenly there was an electrical short circuit which caused them to be electrocuted killing 1 and injuring the other 2. All the tourists that witnessed the incident ran away in fear of being electrocuted.

Finally, Mr Prakasit Yuwawet, who is the mayor of Phichit municipality, ordered the foam party to stop immediately for the safety of the public. The police are now investigating all the relevant people in order to find the cause of the electrical short circuit and will prosecute the offenders according to the Thai law.
