Young Thai Dancer Commits Suicide in Pattaya

A young Thai woman who did not turn up for work for three days was found dead in her room in Pattaya by her friends.

Pattaya 5th August 2010[Pattaya Daily News] At 1.00pm,  Police Lieutenant Colonel Preecha Samrit, Pattaya police investigator was informed of a woman had committed suicide at room number 107 of SPM Mansion, located at 171/6 Moo. 10 [Soi Thai House], North Pattaya road. The police and the Banglamung hospital doctor and their team went to investigate.

At the scene on the first floor of the four storey building, the police found the body of Miss Wipawan or Tah, [20] lying on her back on the bed. There were several wounds on her left wrist. Medication had stained [sleeping pills] her lips from an apparent overdose and a razor blade was found near her body with blood on it. The computer was on ready for use when the police arrived. The police also found a small bottle of the Paracetamol [pain killer] with 10 tablets left.

The officials presumed that she had committed suicide.

Miss Wipawan the deceased was a Coyote dancer of the Fashion Club, located at the Pattaya Beach road. She was originally from Pattani [the southern part of Thailand].

Outside of the room, many of her friends and Mr. B, her boyfriend was crying. The police questioned the boyfriend who is half Thai half Norwegian. He explained that they had lived together for many months. Recently, they had a serious argument because she was jealous and had accused him of having had an affair with another woman.

Mr. B said Miss Wipawan had moved out and rented a new place [where the incident took place] at the beginning of this month which had upset him. He tried to make up with her on the phone, but she refused.

Mr. B continued by saying that he had been searching for her through her friends at her work and found out that she had not been to work for 3 days. They all went to her place and found her dead.

Miss wipawan’s body was sent for autopsy for more investigation and her relatives would be informed. Mr. B will be required to answers more questions by the police.
