Young Gunman Thwarted In Revenge attempt

An 18-year-old man wanted revenge against a CD seller for insulting him in front of friends, so he invaded the seller’s home armed with a gun and knives. However, the homeowner, who was watching a Jackie Chan movie, jumped up and elbowed the invader in the head to injure and defeat him.

SATTAHIP – October 1, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]: At 1:30 am, a report of a home invasion by an armed attacker was received by Pol. Lt. Capt. Nares Boontee, detective on shift duty, Sattahip police station. Rushing to the scene were Pol. Col. Chanapat Nawalak, director of Sattahip police station; Pol. Lt. Col. Prakorb Sangpring, the vice director of suppression division; Pol. Lt. Col. Nipon Pomsanam, the vice director of detective division; Pol. Lt. Col. Thapanat Chyanapat, the detective inspector; the detective forces, and the rescue team from Sawangrochana Thammasathan Sattahip.

The incident occurred at house number 48. 12/1 soi Sattahip Sukhumvit (Chokepradu) Moo 4, Sattahip, Sattahip, Chonburi. Waiting for the police was the homeowner, Mr. Chanon Yensabai, age 29.

Mr. Chanon had subdued and restrained the invader, identified as Mr. Yongyos Deejan or Jeng, age18, living at house number 13, Moo 7 Tha Ngam, Wat Bosth, Pissanuloke.

The injured suspect was wearing a black bandit cap, and had also carried a gun and 2 knives. There was also a bullet hole in the ceiling from a gunshot the suspect had fired.

The rescue team performed first aid on the suspect and sent him to the emergency room at Queen Sirikit hospital, naval medical department, where he received 10 stitches for his wound. The police went with the suspect to keep an eye on him.

During questioning, the homeowner Mr. Chanon described the events leading up to the incident. Mr. Chanon is a CD seller, and earlier in the evening, he had gotten into an argument with Mr. Yongyos. He said the suspect and his group of friends were always noisy and rowdy every night, and it was very annoying. So after they argued, they parted on unfriendly terms.

Mr. Chanon then went home, and later began watching a Jackie Chan movie, “Police Story.” Then he heard knocking at his door, and when Mr. Chanon opened his door, a man who was wearing a bandit cap came into the house, and pointed a gun at him and kicked him from behind. The bandit also fired his gun into the ceiling.

But when the opportunity came, Mr. Chanon fought back, and in a martial arts move, jumped up to hit his elbow on top of the masked bandit’s head. The bandit was wounded by the blow, and fell bleeding to the ground. So Mr. Chanon tied him up and called the police.

When questioned by police, the suspect Mr. Yongyos confessed that he committed the crime because he was angry. He said that during their argument, Mr. Chanon had “flamed,” or insulted his parents, in front of his friends, so he decided to seek revenge.


So Mr. Yongyos took advantage of the night, and wore a bandit cap to cover his face. He then brought a gun and the knives to invade Mr. Chanon’s house to avenge the insult and hurt him. But instead he missed his chance when Mr. Chanon suddenly attacked and injured him with his elbow.

Police charged Mr. Yongyos with attempted premeditated murder, for possessing a gun and bullets without permission, and for carrying a gun into a public area or village without permission.
