Mr.Pawat Lerdmukda expected that these weapons were left because the NPOMC had ordered a clamp down on people carrying weapons which if people had they could hand in between 2-10 June without being prosecuted. But some owners have left their weapons on the side of roads to prevent them being tracked by the police.
Pol.Lt.Col.Niphon Pomsanarm revealed that the NPOMC had order the police to intensify and clamp down on people carrying weapons. Initially they sent them to Royal Thai Police Forensic office in order to find out the real source of the weapons.
Upon questioning Mrs.Lamud Nunkhuntod aged 54 who found the weapons he told police that she was searching for old things to sell when she found the bag. At first sight she thought it was a bag containing metal but when she got closer she noticed the guns inside and was shocked so she fled the scene before contacting the police.
