Worker Withdraws 9 MillionTHB From Krung Thai Bank

A female bank officer stole nearly 9 million THB from the Nakhon Phanom branch of Krung Thai Bank. She failed to show up at the bank with expected deposits, and also transferred 1.7 million THB to her boyfriend’s bank account. Then they both disappeared.

NAKORN PHANOM – January 22, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 9 a.m. a report of a female Krung Thai bank officer embezzling nearly 9 million THB from the bank was received by Pol. Lt. Col. Pramote Uthakij, expert investigation officer, Muang Nakhon Phanom police station.

The theft report was made by Mr. Sutthiphong Boonpok, the manager of Krung Thai bank, Nakhon Phanom province.

He identified the suspected thief as Ms. Juthamas Suwanbamroong, the senior officer of customer service at the Krung Thai bank, Nakhon Phanom branch. He said she had swindled money from the bank for 8,906,200 THB, and asked the police to prosecute her.

Ms. Juthamas’ duties included taking care of the automatic deposit machine, and carrying the key of the machine of the Nakhon Phanom branch.

However, during the time period from January 17-19, Ms. Juthamas didn’t bring the money to send to the bank. She also transferred 1.7 million THB to the bank account of her boyfriend at the Nakhon Phanom branch of Krung Thai bank.

She then escaped with her boyfriend, identified as Mr. Supphachet Chanachai, age 31. The police have already issued the arrest warrant to arrest both of them.
