Pattaya, the 16th of November 2009 [Pattaya Daily News]: At approximately 1:00am on Monday police Lieautenant General Ekkadit Seemoon (investigator with the Dong Tan Police Station), received a report of a motorbike theft that had occurred on Jomtien Beach Road. Mr Pisanu Wonsarson age 25, (a hotel employee), placed the call stating that his motorbike had been stolen and that he had already apprehended the female suspect.

When police arrived at the scene they found Mr Wonsarson and a few others holding a young woman in custody. The woman is now known to be a Miss Warangkhana Kangthing age 24, from Yasothon. The motorbike in question was also present at the scene, a white and black Yamaha Fino.

Mr Wonsarson stated that he had been having a few drinks with friends on Jomtien Beach after having finished work for the day. He explained that he had parked his motorbike on the roadside nearby. He stated that he had observed the offender sitting on his motorbike, but assumed that she was merely resting. After a short while one of Mr Wonsarson’s friends informed him that his motorbike was gone and that he suspected it was the lady who had stolen it. At which time Mr Wonsarson and his friends decided to jump on their remaining motorbikes in order to search for the thief. Within a few hundred meters of their drinking place the group found Miss Kangthing riding the motorcycle down the road. The subsequently stopped her and called police.

Miss Kangthing declared to police that she had performed the theft alone. The police found this statement hard to believe, as she was not in possession of any type of material that could be used to unlock and steal a motorbike. In addition Miss Kangthing couldn’t tell them where the equipment was even located. Police arrested Miss Kangthing and escorted her back to the station where she was later charged with theft.
