PATTAYA – August 19, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 11.00 p.m., Pol.Maj. Thanawin Kaewsiang (Inspector of Pattaya city police station) was notified that a Russian woman had her window smashed on her car and her bag had been stolen. The Incident occurred on the car park of the Tenerife Sport Point Pattaya, Soi 5 Thepprasit, address no. 34/1 Moo 12 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, so he rushed to inspect at scene.

At the incident the officers found a black Proton car, license number Khor Phor 2406 Chonburi. Upon inspecting the car the officers found that the back left window had been smashed. The car belonged to Nadya Polet, aged 24, from Russia.

Miss Nadya told the police that her handbag contained 9,000 THB, 1 iPhone 5 and various other documents. She also told police that she had parked her car at the location before going into the fitness centre and after she had finished she came out and found that her car had been broken into and her hand bag was missing.

Initially the police assumed that there might be 1-2 culprits that had hung around the car park waiting for the right opportunity to break into the victims car while she was exercising inside the fitness centre. The officers believe that the thieves were drug addicts and needed the money to buy drugs. However, the police will rush to follow up and arrest the culprit(s) so they can be prosecuted further according to the Thai law.
