Pattaya Pol.Lt.Col. Wallop Gangtarathip was notified early in the morning of June 16 of the robbery and sent a team to investigate. When they arrived at the 2-unit, 4-storey shop house premises of Town and Country Property, South Pattaya, they spoke to Mrs. Luktao Sangmueng, (40), a cleaning woman, who told them that, at 7.30am, she had opened the office to clean and found the 1st and 3rd floor offices had been ransacked and she assumed some property was missing. She immediately rang Miss Oraphan Sang-gan, (36), the manager, and subsequently reported the matter to the police.

Police searched the premises and discovered that the thief had cut through the wire fence behind the building, climbed the fire escape ladder, and then drilled through the back wall of the office to gain entry.

After checking, Miss Oraphan, told police that Mr. Cornilus Ziodorus Kuifer (46), a Belgian citizen and Mr. Therman Van Gucht, (57), a Dutch citizen, the joint owners, had lost Bt70,000 altogether; Bt30,000 from the 3rd Floor, and Bt40,000 from the Ground Floor Sales Department. However, Miss Oraphan said, the most important missing items were 3 hard drives containing vital company information. Police investigators dusted the premises, kept the fingerprints as evidence and will follow up the investigation.
