The Michael Bay-produced sci-fi thriller Welcome to Yesterday (previously titled Almanac) was set to open in just a few weeks, but will now be postponed indefinitely. Directed by Dean Israelite, written by first-time writers Andrew Stark and Jason Pagan, and starring Jonny Weston and Sofia Black-d’Elia, the film centers on a group of teens who construct a working time machine and are faced with unexpected complications. It was planned to debut in theaters on February 28th, but Paramount is now looking towards a release date this summer or fall. Hit the jump to find out why. The report cites a decision to give Bay, whose Transformers: Age of Extinction is due out this June, “the opportunity to focus on the smaller movie.” Paramount Pictures will pair with MTV Films on the release of the low-budget thriller
