Arrested was Ms. Wanwisa Pongapirak, 33, living at house number 31, moo 1, Klongkiu Banbueng Chonburi.

Ms. Wanwisa was arrested at an Esso gas station, on Bangna-Trad road, Bangna, Bangna, BKK. She was charged under the power of Phra Kanong provincial court code 454/2555, dated July 27, 2012, for embezzling other peoples’ assets.

Ms. Wanwisa had opened a web site as a car pawn shop, claiming that it would pay good prices for pawned items.

In June, Mr. Patinya Saphak brought his car to pawn, a Mitzubishi Pajero, for 80,000 baht. Ms. Wanwisa took a benefit for the pawned car by telling him to front a down payment for a motorcycle for 10,000 baht.

Mr. Patinya followed her instruction and transferred money to her. When the due date came for his reimbursement, she claimed that he had to put money down on another motorcycle first.

But the victim got curious, and went to check about his car, which had disappeared and could not be located. So he notified police at the Bangna police station, who arrested her.

Ms. Wanwisa denied any wrongdoing, but after checking, the police discovered many other victims of the web site pawnshop operator.

Police notified the victims to file a report and to see the convict whenever they want. They sent Ms. Wanwisa to the investigation team.
