Drunken Naklua teenagers had made a bad image on “Wan Lai” day during a water throwing fun for Songkran Festival (Thai New Year) by creating a fight with their enemies in the middle of the street. One victim was trampled heavily until unconscious. Bystanders and revelers were terrified and rushed to report to the police.

Naklua district, Chonburi province, on April 18, 2008, was called “Wan Lai” day to celebrate the water throwing in order to cool off in the summer. There were both Thai and foreign revelers joining the fun under the control of police in Naklua. Nevertheless, the heat was steaming up when gang of intoxicated teenagers started to fight with their enemies and caused an injury.

The violence started among local teenagers with their enemies in the middle of Naklua road, after the discouragement had failed. The chaotic situation had begun with the first punch on an enemy’s face which made the two gangs started to open a free fight. Unexpectedly, there was a men ran into the crowd with a two feet long knife in his hand, watching for an opportunity to attack someone, which was very terrifying to all bystanders.

After awhile of engaging in a combat, one young man was unconsciously lying on the road by being trampled hardly. The victim was carried up on the truck and the teenagers who created trouble had run away as soon as the police arrived.

The tradition of “Wan Lai” day in Naklua has been a common practice for the local people in the district for a long time.

A bystander commented, “It is a pity that those brainless youngsters had created a trouble without a fear of law. Besides, the police check point was only 50 meters away” “ This is a very disgraceful for Naklua.” She added.

“Tanabat”( Bank) a young man, and our photographer  “DCman”, brought us back this video, The original, long one is worth thier while and hopefully, PDN can lead them to one of the most rewarding and exciting careers.
