Pattaya, the 11th of December 2009 [Pattaya Daily News]: Police Lieutenant Colonel Sarayut Sangoun Pokai (Pattaya police superintendent) has received a statement from an eye witness to a murder in the vicinity of Soi Dum-Dang, explaining that two volunteer policemen are responsible for the murder. Lt. Col. Pokai ordered a team of police to proceed to the Pattaya police confiscation compound in Soi Bongkot were the two volunteers were currently situated. A blockade of the area was setup to prevent their escape.

According to a witness, whose name has been withheld, the two men had shot the victim in Soi 17 or Soi Dum-Dang, in front of the Attasit Villa village on the 25th November 2009.

The two suspects, Mr. Chalermwan Ritloy [23], Nakorn Sawan province and Mr. Chalermchai Jook Kratoke [26], Saraburi province, claimed to be volunteer officers with the Pattaya Police. Upon their arrest, officers showed them the warrant that had been issued by the court (No. J- 1152/2552, issued on 25th November 2009). However the two suspects have continuously denied the accusations levelled against them.

Initially, the police have only been able to charge them for illegal firearm possession in public; however the suspects have been taken to the police station where investigation will continue in an attempt to bring the men to justice.
