Volunteer Police Plant Drugs On Reporter

A reporter who was stopped by volunteer police said that he had drugs on him. Once they found out he was a reporter they changed their minds and said it was a misunderstanding.

PATTAYA – February 28,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; a Pattaya reporter who was riding his motorcycle was stopped by a volunteer police officers and they tried to plant drugs on him. The reporter was Mr.Thiwakorn Kritmanee aged 25 of Pattaya People Newspaper and the officers tried to claim that he threw the drugs away.


Mr.Thiwakorn said that he was stopped at a checkpoint but hadn’t done anything wrong when a man who was wearing a black shirt and a radio told the police that Mr.Thiwakorn had drugs and had just thrown them away.

Later the volunteer police officers told the reporter that they had just misunderstood what was said and it might have been someone else who had the drugs.


However, the reporter criticized the action of the police and said it was setting a very bad image of the police in front of local people and teenagers.


Later he notified Pol.Lt.Sanan Kotanan-inspector of Pattaya police station- in order to record the incident and prosecute the volunteer police officers. He will summon the officer who made the fake accusation against the reporter to be question in more detail.
