Pattaya, 9 June 2011 [Pattaya Daily News]: Pol. Lit. Wisanu Chaisuwan (Deputy Inspector Suppression of Pattaya Police Department) was informed that a traffic police officer was assaulted at Dolphin Circle.

The police victim, Pol. Sen. Sgt. Maj Nuttapon Dokshurung reported that Sunti Wongwai, 27 hit him on his right forehead before taking his gun away.

Maj. Nuttapon was taken to Banglamung Hospital for medical care.

According to Maj. Nuttapon, he pulled the suspect over for inspection and warning as Sunti was speeding on his motorbike.

However, the suspect did not believe he was a traffic police officer so Sunti assaulted him and took his gun, Nuttapon said.

Based on Sunti, he admitted to the assault but claimed that Nuttapon was drunk when he forced Sunti to pull his bike over.

They started arguing when Nuttapon took out his gun to threaten Sunti, saying that he was a police mane, Sunti added.

However, Nuttapon was not wearing a police uniform so Sunti took the gun and wounded Nuttapon in self-defense.

The police detained Sunti for further questioning and investigation, while waiting for Nuttapon to recover
