PATTAYA-April 16, 2014 [Pattaya Daily News]; At 10.00 am. On Jomtien beach reporters revealed that there have been more and more visitors coming to Pattaya during Song Kran Festival. The operators in Pattaya have also made a lot more money during the Song Kran Festival. They are also waiting for “Wan Lai” in Pattaya on April 19th so they can make more money.

Ms.Aey a business owner on the beach revealed that this year there have been a lot more visitors visiting Jomtien beach and they like to rent the beach beds at 40 Baht per day. Visitors can also order beverages and food from the beach operators; however they like to bring their own food.

Surprisingly there are a lot of Myanmar tourists who have come to Jomtien beach and like to sit on a mat where they eat their own food and drink and don’t want to pay for a chair so they can use the extra money to buy more food and drink.

Bang Mean a business operator on the middle of Pattaya beach-revealed that Song Kran this year is not as quiet as he expected due to the political unrest. They have raised the cost of a beach bed to 50 baht per day because they have limited parking and want to make the most of the busy period.

The beach operators also revealed that their revenue was doubled to 5000-8000 baht per day. They are looking forward for “Wan Lai” which they expect to make more money during that day.

Unfortunately many travelers have complained that some operators have seized public parking spaces for their customers only when it’s a public parking space and doesn’t belong to them because they rent the beach not the parking space and road. The visitors would like this to be policed more and would be happier if the beach vendors weren’t so greedy and inconsiderate to the general public.
