Violent Traffic Collision Sends Five To Hospital

A Chonburi politician and businessman was seriously injured when his Toyota CRX slammed into a Toyota pickup truck on a traffic curve. Rescuers had to free trapped victims from the vehicles. Five injured people were rushed to the hospital.

PATTAYA – August 19, 2012 [Pattaya Daily News]; the rescue team from Tri-Khunnatham, Chonburi, rushed to free three people trapped in two vehicles after a violent accident. Five seriously injured victims were sent to Prapasree hospital.

At the curve of Jek Ngong stone bridge, a collision occurred between a blue Toyota Mighty pickup truck, registration number Bor Nor -9270; and a yellow and black Honda CRX del Sol, registration code PorLor – 2228 Bangkok.

Both cars were wrecked and all the people in the vehicles were severely injured. Rescue team member Mr. Rakn said they had to work to free the driver of the Honda CRX, who was trapped in his severely damaged automobile.

He was identified as Mr. Watcharapol Thupuchakorn, age 38, living at 16/320 Moo 5, Tambon Huaykapi, Muang Chonburi. Mr. Watcharapol is a local politician and businessman in Chonburi.

Two men in the cab of the Toyota pickup were also trapped inside and later freed by rescuers. They were identified as Mr. Kitti Nernkhaeo, age18, and Mr. Nikorn, age 18.

Several friends riding on the pickup bed were also thrown from the truck from the impact. They were scattered in all directions. The group of friends had been traveling around Bangsan.
