SATTAHIP – February 2,2015 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 10.30 am Mr.Issara Ritmak 38 year old president of a village led about 100 villagers to protest to the Sattahip waterworks office after they had suffered from no water to use for 3 years. Mr.Wuttipat Sitthiditsaporn-manger of the water works discussed the problem with the villagers.

Mr.Issara revealed that about 300 people had no water to consume for 3 years. The water drained and slowly, the water was dirty and had a bad smell. As a result, the villagers had to buy water from another source, some people had to use a toilet in nearby gas station and some had to use natural water in Plutaluang golf club. However, the waterworks collected 86 baht each month for meter maintenance. The villagers complained to the office but the officer just replied that the pipes were damaged and they were repairing. In addition, the villagers had no water for 5 days and they complained the office again but the officer didn’t give them the right answer. Therefore they decided to protest.

Mr.Wuttipat said that the official had received the complaint a long time ago and they tried to solve the problem. He claimed that the village located on the hill which caused the water pressure to drop. In addition, the water had been insufficient. However, they promised to revise within 5 February 2015.
