Villagers Oppose Pattaya HIV Foundation

Pattaya villagers have opposed a HIV foundation which is located in the centre of their village. While some sympathized with the patients others said it was bad for business.

PATTAYA – November 29,2014 [Pattaya Daily News] revealed that some villagers had notified Nong Prue municipal office in order to move away HIV patients who stayed in Phrasiri foundation which is located in the centre of the village because the villagers were uncomfortable and anxious about living close to the HIV patients. In addition they were afraid that it may affect hotel and apartments because people may cancel their reservations.

 

Nong Prue municipal officers representatives from the HIV foundation and villagers had discussed the issue to find a solution but they couldn’t agree. Most of villagers still insisted that they wanted the foundation moved away, where as some sympathized with the patients.

 

A grocery store owner said that he wasn’t affected from the HIV foundation because he knew that it’s hard to become infected with HIV and the patients always bought things from his shop.

 

In addition a group of businessmen donated some consumables to the foundation. They revealed that they really sympathized with the patients so they decided to visit them and donate some things to them.

 

These businessmen revealed that they sympathized with the patients after they heard the news that the villagers wanted them moved away. The businessmen also added that the people who are against the patients shouldn’t judge them too harshly.
