Vendor Extorted By GangA man who pretended to be a brand copy right inspector tried to extort money from a vendor but the vendor attacked him before calling the police.
PATTAYA-23rd May- [PattayaDailyNews] at 00.10 am Pol.Lt.Siriaphudet Chamnankit-inspector of Pattaya police station- was notified that a shop owner had argued with some men who pretended to be representative from a top brand. After notification the police officers rushed to inspect the crime scene.
At the scene the officers found Mr.Sonthaya Chatdon aged 33 who pretended to be a brand representative inspector. He had been attacked by Mr.Tawat Satan aged 35 who is the shop owner; therefore the officers performed first aid on him before taking them to police station.
Upon questioning Mr.tawat he said that he was in his shop when 3 men who told him that they were from Copy Right Co Ltd and some of them pretended to be police came in. Later the men told him that he had sold pirated goods which made him angry so he attacked the man who pretended to be a brand agent.
However, Mr.Sonthaya insisted that the man had sold pirated goods to customers and he was authorized to inspect the operator and was also accompanied with the police.
Later Mr.Wattana Soonsakul aged 30 who was a shop owner near Mr Tawats Shop informed the officers that these men had inspected his shop before and told him that he had sold pirated goods and they asked him for 15,000 baht but he had no money to pay so he told them to notify the police. Later these men went to Mr Tawats shop.
However, the police officers prosecuted Mr.Tawat on charge of assault while Mr.Sonthaya will be prosecuted for extortion.
