Vaseline Joins 3 Partners To Hold ‘Vaseline Full Sun Double Fun Fair’

The popular sand-and-sea amusement park is coming back this year under the new title “Vaseline Full Sun Double Fun Fair” offering double the fun of last year’s successful event, Vaseline Fun Sun Fun Fair. This year’s exciting event will be held by Vaseline, in conjunction with Pattaya City, Fitness First and A-Time Media, on Saturday and Sunday, April 28 and 29, 2007 at Jomtien beach, Pattaya.

Vaseline, the body care expert from Unilever Thai Trading, welcomes the summer heat by organizing the “Vaseline Full Sun Double Fun Fair” at Jomtien beach, Pattaya. This event aims to offer double-the-fun to consumers while challenging them to prove the effectiveness of Vaseline Healthy Sun Block Lotion, which protects skin against the strong sunlight. Approximately, 80 million baht was set aside to implement this seasonal marketing campaign. The event is expected to attract over 20,000 participants and increase Vaseline Healthy Sun Block Lotion’s sales this summer.

According to Mrs. Pakachat Taychaburapanone, Market Development Director – Skin, Unilever Thai Trading Co., Ltd., The success of last year’s Vaseline Full Sun Fun Fair surpassed our expectations with 10,000 people joining the event. Vaseline Healthy Sun Block Lotion sales jumped 20% during that period. The great consumer feedback and many requests to add more fun activities and a bigger event that we received were key motivators for this year’s “Vaseline Full Sun Double Fun Fair”.

“This sea and sand amusement park is created to strengthen Vaseline’s positioning as the body care expert and challenge consumers to enjoy amusement rides and fun activities while proving Vaseline Healthy Sun Block’s effectiveness in strong sunlight. We have allocated 80 million baht to support this event,” said Mrs. Pakachat.

She added “We are confident that “Vaseline Full Sun Double Fun Fair” will paint this hot summer into a double-the-fun season remembered by consumers and their families while promoting Vaseline Healthy Sun Block as the first sun care brand of choice and receive even greater feedbacks than last summer.”

This year’s event doubles the fun and excitement by doubling the event space to over 15,000 square meters, doubling amusement rides and play stations while extend the event period to 2 days. It will be divided into three zones: Sea Zone, Beach Zone and Kids Zone with a variety of games including a giant 3-storey slider, jumbo-sized trampoline, twin banana boats in the sea as well as the food & drink stations. Consumers can enjoy live entertainment provided by A-Time Media DJs, innovative beach exercises by professional trainers from Fitness First and top band concerts including Potato, Buddha Bless, Showgirls and Peace Maker.

“This year we offer a direct experience of Vaseline products by challenging consumers to prove the effectiveness of Vaseline Healthy Sun Block Lotion at the event. This non-sticky formulation sunscreen comes in 4 formulas that protect skin from UVA and UVB while yogurt protein help soften and moisturize skin in a new package. Vaseline is promoting the event through a full range of media channels. The promotion kicks off with a new TV commercial that will be aired nationwide, starting from March 29, 2007. The TVC will be supplemented with radio spots, print media and outdoor advertisements.

Consumers who buy 100 ml Vaseline Healthy Sun Block Lotion SPF 30, along with a 250 ml Vaseline Healthy White UV Protection Lotion at a special price of 299 baht, normally a 372 baht value, will receive a 199 baht Summer Beach Set including a waterproof beach mat and a pair of flip-flops in hibiscus rose design. Vaseline Healthy Sun Block Lotion holds the second position in the sun care segment with a 13% share. During the summer, sunscreen sales are 55% higher than annual average sales.
