Van Severely Crashed A Water Truck On The Road To Suvarnnabhumi Airport

A van driven at high speed to take their Indian Passengers to Suvarnnabhumi airport before severely crashing into a truck which was watering the plant, causing severe injuries and fatalities.

SUVARNNABHUMI – December 29,2004 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 10.45 am Pol.Lt.Sumet Tubtong-inspector of Suvarnnabhumi airport police station- was notified that a van crashed into a water truck of the airport causing fatalities along the overpass. Immediately the police officers were accompanied with the firemen and rescue team to rush to the scene.


At the scene they found Toyota van which had been severly damaged contained three people who had lost their lives, consisting of Mr.Jakkrit Silawong aged 24 who was the van driver and two Indians who couldn’t be identified. There were six other people with injuries to passengers, who were all Indian. Two young girls aged one and two had also been slightly injured. Officials sent them to Chularat 9 hospital.


On the right lane of the road, a truck was found with damaged to the back and there were also two other people injured who were identified as Mr.Montri Puangkhammee aged 37 the driver and Mr.Sakorn Sikotapetch aged 30 who were watering the plants. Both were also sent to Chularat 9 hospital.

Upon questioning it appeared the truck was located on the right hand side whilst the employees were watering the plants along the right lane. The truck indicated to turn on the signal light when the van drove at very high speed crashed into the truck.


The injured Indians were identified as MRS.NIDHI DEWAN aged 30, MR.NITIN DEWAN aged 38, MR.SACHIN BUSINESS aged 37 who was severely injured, MRS.ACHLA DEWAN aged 59, ASHRIKA DEWAN 2 year old girl and ARAINA DEWAN 1 year old girl.


Police officers investigated the real cause of accident having spoken to all parties concerned. The van had been removed to the car park of Suvarnnabhumi airport in order to carry out further inspection. Mr.Papon Pattamachimsakul-director of Suvarnnabhumi airport visited the injured at Chularat 9 hospital.
