Update of Foreigners Caught For Playing Bridge Card GameDirector of Thailand Bridge League met superintendent of Pattaya police station in order to insist that Bridge card game is not gambling after foreigners have been caught for this game.
PATTAYA- Recently- [PattayaDailyNews] According to the case that Mr.Chakorn Kanchanawatta- chief district of Pattaya- led the police, soldier and officers of excise department to arrest 32 foreign gamblers in a commercial building as they were playing card and Mr.Jeremy Watson aged 74 from England was the banker.
On February 4, Mrs.Chodchoi Sophonpanich- director of Thailand Bridge league- went to meet Pol.Col.Suktad Pumpanmunag- superintendent of Pattaya police station- in order to explicate that this arrest was the first time in Thailand and she gave her opinion that Bridge card game shouldn’t be gambling according to Thai law. In addition, the officers didn’t find money at the crime scene ;therefore, they might not play a game for a purpose of gambling.

She added that Bridge card game is no popular amongst Thai people; however, this kind of game has been defined in SEA Games, ASIAN Games and it is going to be defined in Olympic Games. In addition, she intended to fight in this case because this is a kind of gambling, it is a strategic game and she will willingly be oral evidence for those foreigners if they are prosecuted. However, those foreigners had been already bailed out.
