On 6 October 2007, at 7:30 PM, Banglamung Police Lieutenant Chusak Pinrat was notified that the body of a man, who was brutally attacked, was found n the woods in Soi Pattaya-Naklua 16, or Soi Bpothisampan School, Moo 5, Naklua. The man had bee slashed in his neck and battered on his head. Deputy Superintendent Police Colonel Samrit Kunchit and Dr. Isares Aswa-methaphan, from Banglamung Hospital, along with the Sawang Boriboon Rescue, rushed to the scene.
They found the body of an unidentified man, approximately thirty-five to forty years old about fifty meters off the road. He was clad in blue jeans and a red long sleeved shirt with the letters, JJWD, embroidered on it. His forehead was broken from being smashed with a blunt object and his neck was slashed. There were numerous bruises on his body. Officials estimate that he had been dead for about ten hours. The man did not have any identification. There was a piece of wood, found, near the body.

Nearby residents told Police Colonel Samrit that the body was first discovered by a worker from one of the hotels around Khao Tapraya. Police unsuccessfully attempted to locate this witness.

Police had difficulty determining whether the deceased man was Thai or a foreigner. However, the clothes he was wearing seemed to indicate that he was a foreign worker. It is possible that the man was killed at another location and then dumped in the woods. Police think that there was some sort of dispute and that at least three perpetrators were involved in this brutal murder. The body was sent to the forensic laboratory for examination. The police will pursue their investigation to find those responsible for this heinous crime.
