SRIRACHA – January 31, 2013 [Pattaya Daily News]; at 5:30 p.m., a report of two babies locked inside a car was received by the rescue officers of Sawangpratheep Sriracha foundation, who rushed to the scene with the rescue team and a locksmith.

They were notified by the municipal officer of Tambon Chaophrayasuraksak, who said the babies were inside a car parked at Khreua Satthatharm temple or Chak Khor temple Moo 7 Tambon Surasak, Amphur Sriracha.

At the scene, rescue officers found Mrs. Napha Yangyeun, age 31, standing beside beside a golden bronze Chevrolet automobile. She was frightened and crying while waiting for assistance.

In the car officers saw the two baby boys. One was named Phatthanan Potip, age 1 year and 8 months; and the other boy was named Patcharat Potip, age 1 and1/2 months.

So the rescue officers and locksmith hurried to assist the 2 boys, because they were afraid that it might be dangerous for them, since they had been stuck inside the car for almost half an hour. The locksmith used a wire to lever open the lock of the door in about one minute. Then they opened the door of the car, and the mother and grandmother hurried to carry the boys out of the car immediately.

The still shaken Mrs. Napha told rescuers what happened. She and her husband, along with his mother and their two babies had driven from their house to buy food at Chak Khor market. They had parked near the market within plain sight of the car. So Mrs. Napha left the two babies in the car with her mother-in-law, thinking she would only be gone a few minutes.

But her mother-in-law then took the trunk key and got out of the car in order to get some food from the back they had brought. But she carelessly left the car keys inside the car, so she could not open the locked car doors.
