Two Teenage Boys Shot By Rival Gang Member In Pattaya

Whilst sitting in front of their houses in Pattaya, two teenage boys have been shot in what is believed to be a gang related incident.

Pattaya, the 15th of November 2009 [Pattaya Daily News]: Police Lieutenant General Suwit Sawengmongkol (investigator with the Banglamung Police Station), received a report that 2 young teenagers had been shot in the Rung Reuang Village, Pattaya. A police team was gathered and sent to the incident.

When police arrived at the scene, they were informed that the youths had already been taken to the Pattaya Memorial Hospital due to the severity of their injuries. Upon a brief search of the surrounding area, the police discovered a large pool of blood in front of the victim’s houses, along with several 9mm shell casings. The two victims are known as Ood (fake name) age 16, a student in his 3rd year of college and Det (fake name) age 18. Ood is currently in a serious but stable condition after receiving gun shots to the stomach and hip; as for Det he has received a shot to the calf muscle in his right leg. Both victims are expected to make a full recovery.

After interviewing local residents of the area, police discovered that the two victims were members of a local gang. It was explained further that the two victims had been sitting in front of their houses (next door to each other), when a man and a women appeared on a motorbike in front of them. The male rider of the motorbike stood up and proceeded to pull out a semi-automatic pistol shooting several shots in the direction of the two teenagers, successfully injuring both boys. It is now known to police that the two victims had had previous altercations with the shooter, who had also threatened to kill them on several occasions.

Police will continue with their investigations in an attempt to apprehend the gunman.
