Two Pattaya Teens Shot Dead One Survives

Two teens in Pattaya were shot dead by a teenager gang outside New Hosto Pub & Karaoke in South Pattaya. Their friend survived the shooting by hiding inside a karaoke bar.

Pattaya, August 2, 2011 [PDN; Pol.Lt.Col. Preecha Sumrit, Pattaya Police was informed of a deadly shooting at Newosto Pub & Karaoke bar on Pattaya 3 Road. The police and Swangboriboon rescue team rushed to the scene.

On arrival lying on the pavement and the road police found the bodies of two teens; Mr Nattapong Ketkeaw, age 20, and Mr “Bas” Mahaman, age 22. Both were shot in head by a 11 mm gun. A Honda Wave motorbike, registration KorSorBor 263 Rayong, belonging to the victim was found. The police also found Mr Tosaporn Lodthong, 18, the victim’s friend, who saved his life by hiding the pub.

Mr Tosaporn reported to the police that before the incident he met the both victims at the pub in South Pattaya and joined them on their motorbike to ride with them back home. On the way some teens on motorbikes followed them and told them to park their motorbike. At the pub, the teens pulled over and one of the teens started firing. Both victims died at the scene. Mr Tosaporn ran into the Newosto Pub & Karaoke. The gunman shot at him once but missed and hit pub’s window. Thereafter, the teenager gang fled the scene, heading to Pattaya Klang Road. Mr Tosaporn did not know the suspects and assumed that the suspects were the victims rivals who wanted to revenge.

The police interrrogated the witnesses and collected evidence from the CCTV. The suspects were two males and a female. The gunman was wearing a cap and riding white Honda Wave.

Pol.Col. Nuntawut Suwanlaong, Pattaya Superintendent, stated that the shooting might have resulted from the victims and the suspects rivalry. The police knows the suspects and has launched a search for them.
