Pattaya, the 4th of March 2010 [Pattaya Daily News]: At approximately 2:30pm on Thursday, Sattahip Marshall Chanchai Iamjarern in cooperation with the Sattahip Overcome Drug Addiction Center officers, Sattahip police and officers from the national ONCB moved to arrest Miss Chompho Plordthong [28]. Miss Plordthong, a waitress at the Nong Sam Karaoke in Sattahip, was arrested in possession of an unknown quantity of the class-1 illegal drug Ya-Ice.

Under interrogation, Miss Plordthong admitted to having procured the substance from Mr. Nathat Yusuk [22] a larger dealer in the Sattahip district. Taking advantage of the situation, the taskforce arranged for Miss Plordthong to request another deal with Mr. Yusuk later in the afternoon. Miss Plordthong rang Mr. Yusuk and organised a meet in front of the 7/11 store in Soi Yanggnam, Sattahip. The purchase was to be for 1-gram of Ya-Ice at a cost of 2,500 baht.

At the scene of the deal, Miss Plordthong pointed out the suspect who was waiting in front of the 7/11, sitting on a green Yamaha Mio motorcycle with another Thai man, Mr. Note [17] (alias). Officers approached the pair swiftly, at which point they tried to escape, in the process crashing the motorbike into several parked cars and motorbikes before falling to the ground. Police searched the pair and found 0.5-grams of Ya-Ice in Mr. Note’s possession. Further investigations at Mr. Yusuk’s residence revealed the presence of another 0.5-gram of the illegal drug.

During interrogation, the pair revealed that they were directly working for a larger dealer in the Sattahip area, Mr. Sithichai Phrommajan [23] also known as ‘Jack.’ ‘Jack’ is already known to the police to be involved with a larger Sattahip based drug network operating out of the Phlutaluang area of Sattahip.

Background checks on the two male offenders revealed that Mr. Yusuk had previously been arrested on a variety of gun, assault and attempted murder charges only recently being released from Nong Palai prison. Mr. Note was found to have been recorded in police reports as a close associate and ‘right-hand-man’ of ‘Jack.’

Both Mr. Yusuk and Mr. Note have been charged with distribution, possession and use of a class-1 restricted substance. The pair will now remain in police custody pending further judicial proceedings. Investigations are ongoing in an attempt to further disrupt the drug dealer’s distribution network and arrest the offenders.
